DESIGN DEPICTION: The spirit of the Wolf and Incan Cross (Chakana)
WOLF: In the traditional Huichol religion, wolves are often associated with shamans, symbolizing shape-shifting and a connection to the divine world before the separation of humans and the animal realm. This connection is about understanding and reforming the divine world to the best of our ability.
Wolves also remind us that predators hold a high responsibility in the natural world - maintaining ecosystems. Whenever we connect with a predator spirit, may we remember that we too must hold sacred our responsibility to the natural world.
CHAKANA: This is the Andean, Incan, or Southern Cross. Representing the interconnectedness of the three realms: Hanan Pacha (upper world), Kay Pacha (earthly realm), Ukhu Pacha (lower world), across all four directions: South, West, North, East, and connecting into the Fifth Direction - our Spirit. This symbol is used for deep prayer and understanding of the universe as a representation of ourselves and vice versa.
